The temple has a banyan tree which is worshipped by married Hindu ladies on the occasion of Vat-Savitri Vrat. A fast is kept on that day and women do certain rituals such as tying a white thread around the tree trunk. They say a story which is related to this festival and pray for the long lives of their husbands.
