Devotees pray to the temple goddess, Mayuravalli Thayar, for the fulfillment of their wishes. There is a tradition of offering two bells at the feet of the goddess and then tying them at the door of her shrine. The belief is that when the bells will ring they will convey the prayers of the devotees to the goddess. When the wish is fulfilled the devotees visit the temple again and offer two more bells at the shrine.
