The Adi Kesava Perumal Temple is built in the South Indian style of temple architecture. It is built in an area of 1.5 acres and has two Prakarams or precincts. The plan is rectangular and the temple is surrounded by a 10 ft. high wall. There is a high entrance gate or the Gopuram, a low Vimana or the superstructure above the sanctum sanctorum of the main deity and other subsidiary shrines, and Mandapams or halls. The sequence of structures starts from the main entrance or the Gopuram, followed by the Bali Pitha or the stone pedestal on which the food offering or the Naivedyam is kept for the other gods and goddesses in order of their hierarchy, after being offered to the main deity.
