Deity

The idol of Shree Siddhivinayak is carved out of a single black stone and is 2.5 feet high and 2 feet wide. The trunk of Lord Ganesha curves towards the right, which is unique, as the trunk is usually found curving towards the left. The upper right hand holds a lotus and the left has an axe. The lower right hand holds a rosary and the lower left holds a modaka, a sweet liked by the Lord. Around the neck is the sacred thread in the shape of a serpent. On the forehead of the deity is an eye, which resembles the third eye of Lord Shiva. The idols of goddesses Riddhi and Siddhi are on either side of Shree Siddhivinayak. It is believed that these goddesses are the symbolic representation of victory and prosperity. The deity is seated in the Padmasana, a posture of sitting with legs folded and crossed over each other. The idol rests on a lotus.
