Navaratri and Diwali are the special events that are celebrated at Shree Mahalakshmi Temple. ’Chaitra Navaratri is celebrated in the month of Chaitra i.e. between March and April and ’Ashwin Navaratri is celebrated in the month of Ashwin between September and October and Diwali during October - November.
Navaratri is the biggest festival which is celebrated for nine days and is divided into three groups of three days each. On the first three days, the Goddess is worshiped as manifested in the form of ’Mahakali’ or Durga. During the next three days, she is worshiped in the form of ’Mahalakshmi’, and during the last three days, she is worshiped in the form of ’Mahasarswati’. During Navaratri, the temple is decorated from the entrance to the gabhara. The entire temple surroundings is decorated with various illuminating lights, flowers, garlands etc.
