Accordingly, the team working for the construction of connecting the two creeks took out all the three idols from the Worli creek. After this, they succeeded in connecting the two creeks. After the completion of this work, Ramji obtained a ground on the hillock as a gift from the English rulers. He then constructed the Mahalakshmi Temple on the top of the hillock by spending approximately Rs.80,000/-. As per the records, this temple was constructed between 1761 to 1771.
