Babulnath Temple

Location: The temple is located on a small hillock on Charni Road, near the famous Chowpatty beach, in south Mumbai.

Historical Timeline: The temple was originally built in the year 1780. However, it fell into ruins and was later rebuilt in 1890. The new construction is much bigger than the old one and has been mainly financed by the king of Baroda, Maharaja Sayajirao Gaikwad. Substantial contributions were also made by Gujarati merchants.

Visit Timings: The temple can be visited on all days of the week from 5 a.m. to 10.30 p.m. On Mondays, the timings are from 4:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Deity: The main deity of the Babulnath Temple is Lord Shiva, who is worshipped in the form of a Shivalinga here.
