An important and unique ceremony that takes place in this temple is the ghee Pooja. It is held every Monday and on every Ekadashi and Purnima of the month. It also takes place on other important festivals such as on the 15th August, Janmashtami, and Shivratri. Such is the popularity of this Pooja that those devotees, who wish to sponsor the ghee Pooja in the month of Shravana, make bookings for it a year in advance. Ghee is frozen on wooden planks and various life stories of Lord Shiva and other deities are carved on this. These scenes are then painted with colours. This work is currently being done by the third generation of a family of artists, who stay in the temple for two months for this. On these days, the temple is decorated with electrical lights and the top dome of the temple is also illuminated.

Besides these, there are 34 other kinds of Poojas that can be done at the temple for devotees on payment basis. These include various kinds of Rudrabhisheks, or the anointing of the Shivalinga, and the recitation of mantras or Paaths. Bookings for these are done in advance and the booking amount can be deposited through an a/c payee cheque or draft in the name of "Shree Babulnath Mandir Charities" in the temple trust office. The manager of the temple also provides detailed information about the different types of rites that can be conducted in the temple.
