Ceremonies

Every morning, usually around 2.30 a.m. - 3.00 a.m. the Prakaash ceremony takes place. It is the protocol in which the Guru Sahib’s Saroop, Guru Granth Sahib, is brought from the ‘Sachkhand’ (a separate room where the Saroop is taken to) into the Darbar Sahib for the day. The reverse of Prakaash is Sukhasan. It means peace or tranquility. It is the protocol to ‘retire’ the Sikh holy scripture, Guru Granth Sahib, to "Sachkhand" where it is ceremoniously closed and placed, while the Bani (Holy Text) and Kirtan Sohila (Night Prayer) are recited.
