Nearby Places (Landmarks): As a place of tourist interest, there are various places worth visiting which are located here. Within walking distance of the main market of Mount Abu city, there is the Nakki Lake. This is a mythological lake and its origin lies in a legend that says that it was dug by Gods using their nails or nakh. Hence the name, Nakki Lake. There is also the Sunset Point, which offers beautiful views of the setting sun in the backdrop of the Aravali Hills. The Achalgarh Fort, which was commissioned by Rana Kumbha, is just 8 Kilometres from the main Mount Abu town and is well connected by road. Close to the Gaumukh temple is a tank known as Agni Kund, which is considered as the place where the saint performed the yagna. Travelling just 5 kilometres from the main town of Mount Abu one comes to Trevor’s Tank, a picturesque location named after the British engineer who built it.
