The sanctum sanctorum, which houses the deity, is a magnificent structure. It is octagonal in shape and is about 10 feet wide. It has a silver plated structure called Makhar which houses the idol of Shree Siddhivinayak. The dome inside the sanctum is gold plated and has an exquisite chandelier. There are five doors, out of which three are used for the entry and exit of the devotees and the two on the sides are used by the priests. These doors are made of perforated wood and have carvings of Ashta Ganapati, Ashta Laxmi and Dashavatar. The height of the doors is 13 feet. As compared to the sanctum of the earlier temple structure, the new sanctum has been made at a lower height. This has been done so that even those who are unable to enter the sanctum may get a view of the idol. The area surrounding the sanctum is called the Sabha Mandap or the main hall. It is has steps where people can sit and pray to the God. This is used by those devotees who are unable to stand in long queues to go inside the sanctum. The platform is also used for conducting Pooja by the temple priests.
