Offerings

default

In almost all Jain temples, eightfold offering are done in front of the deity. The first five include water, sandalwood and saffron paste, flowers, incense sticks, and light. The remaining three things like rice, fruits, and sweets are offered at a distance from the idol. Rice is mainly offered in the shape of a swastika on a raised platform. Other things are placed in separate bowls and offered.
