Prayers

In the monastery, regular prayers are conducted from 6:00 am to 7:00 am and again from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. During the prayers, Holy Scriptures are also read. Special prayers are also held during festivals, such as Losar. Prayers are offered on the death anniversary of Je-Tsongkhapa, a great poet and a philosopher of Tibet and also the founder of Gelukpa sect. Prayer wheels are found in the monastery and it is believed that by merely touching a prayer wheel can one completely purify oneself from all negativities. During the prayer some musical instruments like Drunchen or four sets of radung, Nga, Gayling, Tebu (Bell), Damaru, Ralmo, Singun are used.
