The church consists of three chapels and amongst them the Upper Basilica is the most prominent one. The image of Mother Mary is enthroned here in all her glory. The unique feature is that unlike other churches, the idol of Mother Mary is draped in a beautiful silk saree. The altar is further embellished with porcelain plates depicting the life of Jesus, gifted by Portuguese sailors.
