Mass

The mass is central to Catholic worship and a Catholic must attend mass at least once in a week, mainly on Sundays. Almost all ceremonious feasts in the church are accompanied by mass and various other rituals. The mass follows set rules and is carried out in three stages. In the first stage, the priest invites the believers with sandalwood paste and sprinkles rose water to welcome them following the purificatory ritual. The second step consists of the reading of the Bible and the last and final being the partaking of the consecrated bread and wine, symbolizing the sacrifice done by Jesus Christ.
