The Elementary School
Realizing the importance of quality education, the church administration gifted Velankanni with its first primary school in 1907. The school is affiliated to the state board and is situated just 700 m away from the shrine.
Punita Arockia Annai Higher Secondary
Later in 1986, the elementary school was upgraded to a higher secondary school and came to be known as Punita Arockia Annai Higher Secondary School. The highlight of the school is that admission to this institution is open to all, irrespective of their caste, creed, religion, and economic status. The school is equipped with all modern facilities, including a science laboratory. The administration wholeheartedly supports the functioning of various units in their educational institutions like Junior Red Cross, NSS, NCC, and Young Christian Movement and thus ensures the overall development of the students.
Marian Institute
The Marian institute founded in 1996 offers various courses in theology with focus on Mariology. Those who are interested to study about Blessed Mary can enroll here, irrespective of their faith.
