The temple is looked after by a Managing Committee, which consists of the members of Government as well as prominent personalities attached to the temple. The king of Puri is the ‘Adhyasevak’ or the chief servitor of the temple and heads this committee. The present Adhyasevak is Gajapati Maharaj Shri Dibyasingha Deb, who took on the role in 1970 at the age of 17, after the death of his father, Maharaja Birakishore Deb.
