Mantra

default

Om Mani Padme Hung, is the six-syllable mantra, which translates to "Hail to the jewel in the lotus." It is also known as the Mani, and is considered as the collective wisdom of all the Buddhas which is manifested as sound. This mantra is superior to all the other kinds of mantras, such as Vidya mantras, dharanis, and secret mantras. It is said that reciting the Mani even once is the same as reciting all of Buddha’s teachings. Recitation of the Mani perfects the six paramitas (the six virtues that must be practiced by one who undertakes the path to Buddhahood) and firmly blocks any possibility of rebirth in the six realms of the world or the samsara.
