The entire premises of the Devi Temple is covered with green trees and plants.

It includes a Bakul tree which was planted by M.S. Subbulakshmi, the famous vocalist belonging to the Carnatic style of music. She donated that tree on 16th March, 1975, when she came to the IIT Bombay campus for giving a performance.
